Maker Bites is an aggregator-based community site that helps surface the experiences, lessons, and thoughts of members of the maker community.

Submissions to Maker Bites generally include blog posts, interviews, stories, lessons, experiences, and tips.

How Maker Bites Works

Maker Bites functions similarly to popular submission-based communities. Users submit a link, and it appears on the "New" page. If it gets enough upvotes, it moves to the front page.

Submissions are generally url links with a title, but can also be content based. Comments can be added to all submissions. Both submissions and comments can be upvoted.

What to Submit

Submissions to Maker Bites should aim to spread knowledge and foster discussions. Examples include blog posts, interviews, stories, lessons, experiences, and tips.

Most content should be timeless. Outside of "Show MB" posts, submissions that are announcements and news are discouraged.

Show & Ask

New projects can be showcased to the Maker Bites community by submitting a "Show MB" post. Submissions needn't be production ready, but avoid static landing pages like email capture forms or placeholder websites.

Show MB submissions appear under the "Show" section. To submit a Show MB post, simply append your submission with the phrase "Show MB:".

Similarly, if you'd like to start a discussion with the community, append your post with "Ask MB:". Ask MB submissions appear under the "Ask" section.
